Journal Entry #5 - Reflections on Group Mapping Exercise

Group Map on Our Experiences with Digital Culture and Art (Past, Present, Future)
The map you see above was the result from the combined efforts of five different people. We each went through how digital culture and art have influenced our experiences in life, from past, present and towards the future.

We each made an individual map (see below) on our own before compiling everything together.

Individual Map
We looked through each element that was present for all of us before we include them in the map. It turns out social media without a surprise has become a great influence for us in the present. With e-commerce for Art becoming more prevalent, we start to see a trend that Art will find some form or way to exist in our timelines.

We excluded our personal experiences due to the fact that we each had specific moments whereby if we had included would not have made the map cohesive.

We provided links to the past and present and possibly the future. We noticed a difficulty in deciphering what might be present still in the future, but upon critical thinking, we found elements that we believe would withstand the test of time.

In the end, we all concluded that our generation has indeed been shaped by a culture that is digital and that we have all dabbled in some form of art in one way or another in our own individual timelines, and poetically, we have all come together at an apex, for this singular moment where all our experiences coincide, like a network having its connections cross-wired to generate this unique piece of work.
